5 Question Friday

My creative blogging brain has gone on vacation (and my editor is away for a few days. I try not to hit "publish" on anything that could be remotely controversial while he's gone) but I'll join in the fun over at My Little Life and answer today's Five Questions.

1. What were you scared of as a kid?
The dark. Burglars. People I love dying. Jesus coming back before I had a chance to do anything exciting. (Sad, but true.) Oh, and snakes. Let's not forget snakes. Obviously, I was (am?) a big, religious fraidy-cat.

2. Do you sleep well in a hotel?
Depends on what we mean by "hotel". Fancy place with giant bed and just my husband - sleep is sweet. Place by an interstate, with college students carousing, and all my children sleeping in the same room with us - sleep is sketchy at best, for the first night. If we have to stay more than one night, I usually sleep just fine by Night #2. (This probably has something to do with taking our four girls swimming in the motel swimming pool multiple times a day.)

3. If you could meet any celebrity, dead or alive, who and why?
Um...Does Winston Churchill count as a celebrity?

4. It's a hot summer day. Do you prefer to be pool side or at the beach?
Poolside. At Grandpa and Grandma's house. Beaches are too crowded in the summer.

5. What is your favorite summer dish?
Watermelon. That's not a dish, you say? OK then, anything my husband grills or anything my Mamaw serves on Memorial Day (Chocolate pie! Potato salad! And watermelon! Did I mention watermelon yet?). The summer is not a time for cooking.

What about you?

I promise to be candid and you can be too. Blogging is best when it's a conversation. Thanks for taking the time to read this post and respond. I enjoy hearing what you have to say.
