Sunday Thoughts - Mother's Day Edition

When a wife and mother fulfills her God-given duty, she act as a barrier against that family dishonoring God and His Word. – John MacArthur

Titus 2: 3-5
The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

I'm praising God today for many reasons, not least because He has given me wonderful grandmothers, a wonderful mother, and a wonderful mother-in-law (and I must also mention here the wonderful grandmothers I gained when I married my husband!) who have all raised their families with this tenet in mind. And, yes, I know I used the word "wonderful" four times in a row. It's the one that fits best.

Happy Mother's Day, Karen!

That highlighted phrase has been one to keep me on track many a day when I've felt like derailing. I thank God for bringing it to my attention often.
