The commands found in Titus 2 have been given to us for an all-important reason that transcends time and culture. That reason is the gospel of Jesus Christ. – Carolyn MahaneyTitus 2:1-5
But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:
That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
I don't know about you, but it sure helps me to consider that my job is more than "just" loving my husband or children. The reason for doing this with excellence: so God's word is not blasphemed (reviled). I can (and I ought to) take that charge seriously.
