Quick Takes Friday - My First Edition

7 quick takes sm1 Your 7 Quick Takes Toolkit!
1. Happy Veteran's Day! Today I'm thankful for our amazing Service men and women, but especially for my Papaw (retired), my brother-in-law (currently serving), and Philip's cousin Sam (currently serving). These men represent three different branches of the military and they are all honorable, amazing and yet humble men.

2. Today is 11-11-11. Unless you're European, then it's...well, still 11-11-11. So that's awesome.

3. Tonight our Sunday School class is having a Progressive Dinner. Progressive dining is not really my favorite activity and this year I'm providing the soup course but I volunteered my sister's house to host it. Because I'm tricky like that. And because I don't feel like squeezing 20 adults in my Tiny House while we all try to eat soup without spilling. {shudder}

4. Things I have sewn in the past week: a fitted t-shirt, a pullover sweater into a cardigan, and two pillows. I am on a roll here, people. I actually used my sewing machine. And it was great.

5. I have my first sponsored giveaway coming up soon. I am excited and nervous about this. The company has been great to work with and I don't want to let them down. Are blog jitters a real thing? 'Cause I've got them.

6. Tomorrow is National Gaming Day. Break out the board games! If you're local you can meet up with Philip at our library because he's giving a game demonstration ("Beyond Monopoly") and they'll be playing games for a few hours.

7. I mentioned this earlier in the week but here goes again: my grandparents are celebrating their 60th anniversary tomorrow. Everyone's being pretty low key about it but I can't let it go without mentioning it because I think it's amazing. Also, I'd like to go on record for my children: when Philip and I make it to 60 years (just 48 years to go!) I want a GIGANTIC CELEBRATION. Possibly a parade. I'll keep you posted on that.

What's up in your neck of the woods this week?

I would be celebrating if I made it to 60 years! And for the record: I also think a parade is a perfect idea ;)

I promise to be candid and you can be too. Blogging is best when it's a conversation. Thanks for taking the time to read this post and respond. I enjoy hearing what you have to say.
