Weekend Links - September 10, 2011

First of all, I need this house:

Oh, all right, I don't need it, but wow! What a gorgeous place to live.

This looks perfect for those chilly, stay under a blanket and read a book days of fall:
Or how about some Pumpkin White Hot Chocolate?

If you're not on Pinterest yet, you really ought to be. (If you need an invite let me know) The site is so inspiring I actually crafted a few things this week (one of which involved gluing buttons on a small box) and mended some clothes so I could wear them. I know. I can hardly believe it either.

1. This story about a WW2 British agent called The White Mouse is fascinating and inspiring. She would have been in her late 20's and early 30's during her war career. That's what I mean by inspiring. She was helping save the world.

2. Homeschooling is dangerous. Yep. But not for the reasons you might think. This post explains it well. (Note: I do not agree with everything the author says. This disclaimer could be applied to every post I link to but I just wanted to remind everyone of that.)

3. Need some more bookmarks? Here's a sweet printable version with a great quote from Dr. Seuss.

4. I can see this tutorial on fixing veneer coming in very handy for yard sale (or trash!) finds.

5. Making your own detergent? You'll need washing soda. Grocery store doesn't sell it? Make your own.

6. My own list of 20 Things My Kids Might Sue me for Some Day would probably look a little bit different but much would be the same. How 'bout you?

7. These flutter sleeves are sweet. I should probably give it a try. I have two sewing machines now but they're sitting all lonely and neglected. Maybe fall would be a good time to try again.

8. Know what I have been doing? Sudoku. Lots of Sudoku. This post has the basic idea and some strategies for completing these addictive little puzzles. And fear not, there's not actually any math involved.

Found anything around the web that I should know about? Link up in the comments. And if you're going to make either of those pumpkin drinks up there, save one for me and I'll be right over.

So you finally gave in and tried Sudoku. I knew it was just a matter of time. ;)

I promise to be candid and you can be too. Blogging is best when it's a conversation. Thanks for taking the time to read this post and respond. I enjoy hearing what you have to say.
