That's My Girl

Today we sorted out Polly and Tigger's "commissions" that they earned last week. Tigger divided her $0.41 up along the usual lines but Polly deliberated over her grand sum of $0.53 for a bit longer than usual.

She set aside 10 percent (in this case a nickel) in her "Give to God" jar. Then she thought some more.

"OK," she said. "Put these three pennies in my spending bank and put all the rest in my savings."

"Are you sure?" I asked. We only require that she save 10%.

"I'm sure. I'm saving for college. I will not be getting student loans," she informed me.

So chalk up $0.45 more for Polly's college fund. It's coming right along.

Polly is a dedicated Dave Ramsey listener, in case you haven't figured that out. Who knows? She may grow up to have emergency funds for her emergency fund.
