Tossed Salads and Orange Soups

Well, despite its beautiful color: the pumpkin soup was only a mixed success. Mixed in that two of us thought it was all right (Tigger, me), one of us loved it (Sweet Pea), and two didn't like it (Prince Charming, Polly). I must say that of the two that didn't like it, only one wept, wailed and gnashed her teeth, almost losing out on some pretty fun activities. Quite a scene here at the Charming Household, from someone who is usually not a scene maker.

But I did get to use my beautiful cookie cutter:

To make these adorable dough leaves (this is about 1/3 of how many I made):

We did all enjoy the salad and leaf cut-outs. And the table was nicely decorated. But I seriously doubt we'll be having pumpkin soup again any time soon. Or, you know, ever.

I'm with Polly on the punkin' soup. I'm not a punkin' liker at all. The leaves look cute. Was it just pie crust type dough?

Yeah, I probably would have passed on the soup....just not a big pumpkin lover. At least Sweet Pea loved it! As for the cookies- I'm always up for cookies!

Sorry, Lisa, no cookies. That's crescent roll dough. You roll it flat, cut out the shapes, bake & float 'em on your soup.

Hey! I need to be moved to the "okay" group. Really, it was not too bad with about 3TB of brown sugar added to mine. Liquid pumpkin pie!

While you're at it, why not freeze and blend it into a pumpkin pie smoothie? Hot liquid pumpkin pie doesn't sound very good.

It wasn't supposed to be "hot liquid pumpkin pie". That's what Philip turned his into when he didn't like it.

Like I said, I doubt we're going to do pumpkin soup again. Although I do have an interesting recipe for Harvest Squash Soup...

This squash soup is pretty good ...
