Off to a speedy start

Well, I hope everyone enjoyed their holidays. I can't say I'm sorry to see the back of the
crazyjoyous season, myself. Christmas is one of my favorite times but I'm always worn out by the end of December.

Most years we spend New Year's with my grandparents. We just relax, play games, watch football (o.k, some of us watch football - not me) and, of course, eat. Sometimes I think my grandma is on a personal mission to see how many Cheetos and cookies Polly and Tigger can eat.

Anyway, this year was no different. We stayed at my grandparents' for the entire day, leaving somewhere around 10 or 10:30. A good time was had by all, I assume because I haven't actually asked, although we missed my sisters (Hi Princess! Hi LuLu!)

So it was with a minivan full of sleepy girls we headed home. We live about 40 minutes away from my grandparents' house. Did you know that driving just a few miles over the speed limit is enough to get you a $104.00 speeding ticket? Ask me how I know.

Yes, 25 minutes into the aforementioned commute, Prince Charming was pulled over by one of our hardworking civil servants. No, he wasn't being reckless. Yes, we were all buckled up. It was actually all very painless except for the whole ticket thing. So much for our relaxing day.

So, that's how our 2008 started. I hope your first few days are going a bit smoother than ours. And a bit less...speedy.
