Books of 2007 - February

February was a momentous month for us - the month of Sweet Pea! Here are the books I read in those last, uncomfortable days:

1. A Tale of Two Sisters by Anna Maxted. Fiction. Chick-lit and quite forgetable.

2. Eats, Shoots, & Leaves by Lynn Truss. Non-fiction. The new classic. A must for anyone in love with the English language!

3. The Well Educated Mind by Susan Wise Bauer. Non-fiction. Pretty good advice for self education. I bogged down in the middle of this for awhile if I remember correctly.

4. Captivating by John & Stasi Eldredge. Non-fiction. Um, this would probably require its own blog post! Avoid if possible and if not, be careful. I think this book and the worldview it represents is very dangerous to Christian women today. That's all I'm going to say. For now.

5. A Catered Valentine's Day by Isis Crawford. Fiction. Some series mystery for which I don't remember the details.

6. Wild At Heart by John Eldredge. Non-fiction. Read to be sure my suspicions after reading #4 above were correct. They were. Avoid.

7. The Proper Care and Feeding of Marriage by Laura Schlessinger. Non-fiction. Ah, Dr. Laura. Many of her points in this book were correct, in my opinion. Let's just say subtlety and finesse are not her strong points.

8. Living the Sabbath by Norman Wirzba. Non-fiction. Not what I was expecting to read. This is a very liberal worldview. I'm not sure this author knows the God of the Sabbath or what the Sabbath is.

9. 1000 Best Organizing Secrets by Jamie Novak. Non-fiction. Yes, I read all 1000. Can't remember any specifics but it was a helpful book.

10. The Top Ten edited by J. Peder Zane. Non-fiction. Not ringing any bells...

11. Find More Time by Laura Stack. Non-fiction. Not that I feel like I need more time! Several good ideas.

12. Baby Proof by Emily Giffin. Fiction. Chick-lit. Amusing but cynical look on life.

13. Simplify Your Time by Marica Ramsland. Non-fiction. You'll understand the irony when I tell you that I finished this book while in labor with Sweet Pea. Yeah, having baby #3 isn't the best way to simplify your time.

Here's the list from January.
